MSM30 Index ended on a flat note at 6,329.93 points, up by 0.07 per cent. The MSM Sharia Index closed at 958.85 points, up by 0.04 per cent. Global Financial Investment was the most active in terms of volume as well as turnover. Takaful Oman, up by 2.86 per cent was Tuesday's top gainer while Al Hassan Engineering, down by 2.50 per cent, was the top loser for the day.
A total number of 885 trades were executed during the day's trading session generating turnover of OMR5.96 million with more than 35.3 million shares changing hands. Out of 49 traded securities, 15 advanced, 17 declined and 17 remained unchanged. At the session close, Omani Investors were net buyers for OMR495,000 followed by GCC & Arab Investors for OMR60,000 while Foreign Investors were net sellers for OMR556,000 worth of shares.
Financial Index ended the session at 7,856.51 points, up by 0.04 per cent. Takaful Oman, Bank Dhofar, Gulf Investment Services, Al Madina Takaful and United Finance increased 2.86 per cent, 1.43 per cent, 1.35 per cent, 1.15 per cent and 0.83 per cent respectively. Oman & Emirates Holding, Al Madina Investments, Al Anwar Holding, DBIH and Bank Muscat declined 1.63 per cent, 1.52 per cent, 0.75 per cent, 0.68 per cent and 0.38 per cent respectively.
Industrial Index gained 0.12 per cent to close at 8,259.34 points. Al Anwar Ceramics, Voltamp Energy and Oman Cables increased 2.08 per cent, 2.03 per cent and 0.52 per cent respectively. Al Hassan Engineering, Construction Materials, National Aluminium, Galfar Engineering and Gulf International Chemical declined 2.50 per cent, 2.33 per cent, 1.84 per cent, 1.48 per cent and 0.43 per cent respectively.
Services Sector Index closed at 3,453.57 points, down by 0.06 per cent. OIFC, Sharqiyah Desalination and Ooredoo increased 2.63 per cent, 0.62 per cent and 0.55 per cent respectively. National Gas, Omantel, Shell Oman Marketing, Al Suwadi Power and Al Batinah Power declined 0.99 per cent, 0.90 per cent, 0.75 per cent, 0.52 per cent and 0.52 per cent respectively.
