MSM30 Index advanced 0.33 per cent to close at 6,350.79 points. MSM Sharia Index closed at 962.83 points, up by 0.42 per cent. Al Anwar Holding was most active in terms of volume as well as turnover. Wednesday's top gainer was OIFC, up by 2.99 per cent while Oman Fisheries, down by 1.64 per cent, was the top loser for the day.
A total number of 824 trades were executed during the day's trading session generating turnover of OMR3.70 million with more than 12.4 million shares changing hands. Out of 47 traded securities, 19 advanced, eight declined and 20 remained unchanged. At the session close, Omani Investors were net buyers for OMR852,000 while Foreign Investors were net sellers for OMR853,000 worth of shares.
Financial Index increased 0.42 per cent and closed at 7,889.29 points. Oman United Insurance, United Finance, Al Madina Takaful, Takaful Oman and ONIC Holding increased 2.58 per cent, 2.46 per cent, 2.27 per cent, 1.85 per cent and 1.72 per cent respectively. Global Financial Investment, Oman & Emirates Holding, Al Batinah Development and Al Sharqia Investments declined 0.84 per cent, 0.83 per cent, 0.69 per cent and 0.64 per cent respectively.
Industrial Index closed at 8,296.60 points. Al Hassan Engineering, Oman Cement, Al Anwar Ceramics, Voltamp Energy and Oman Cables increased 1.71 per cent, 1.66 per cent, 1.53 per cent, 1.49 per cent and 1.30 per cent respectively.
