MSM30 Index ended lower and closed at 6,231.95 points, down by 0.17 per cent. The MSM Sharia Index closed at 953.08 points, up by 0.09 per cent. Construction Materials was the most active in terms of volume while Al Fajar Al Alamia was the most active in terms of turnover.
Wednesday's top gainer was Majan College, up by 10.00 per cent while Al Jazeera Steel, down by 5.96 per cent, was the top loser.
A total number of 1,020 trades were executed during the day's trading session generating turnover of OMR7.44 million with more than 23.2 million shares changing hands. Out of 53 traded securities, 10 advanced, 19 declined and 24 remained unchanged. At the session close, Omani Investors were net buyers for OMR1.61 million while Foreign Investors were net sellers for OMR1.32 million followed by GCC & Arab Investors for OMR290,000 worth of shares.
Financial Index closed at 7,677.00 points, down by 0.59 per cent. Takaful Oman, Al Madina Takaful, Bank Dhofar and Global Financial Investment increased by 5.21 per cent, 1.14 per cent, 1.08 per cent and 0.84 per cent respectively.
Industrial Index declined 0.36 per cent to end the day at 8,225.52 points. Gulf International Chemicals and Al Anwar Ceramics increased 1.25 per cent and 0.53 per cent respectively.
Services Sector Index closed at 3,439.45 points, up by 0.06 per cent. Majan College, Sembcorp Salalah, Ooredoo and Sharqiyah Desalination increased 10.00 per cent, 1.28 per cent, 1.13 per cent and 0.15 per cent respectively.
