The MSM30 Index closed at 7,020.68 points, up by 0.16 per cent. The MSM Sharia index declined by 0.08 per cent to close at 1,043.09. Al Anwar Holding was the most active in terms of volume as well as turnover. The top gainer of the day was National Mineral Water, up by 14.52 per cent, while Oman Chlorine was the top loser of the day having gone down 3.45 per cent.

As many as 1,555 trades were executed during the day's trading session generating turnover of OMR8.6 million with more than 24.2 million shares changing hands. Out of 52 traded stocks, 21 advanced, 10 declined and 21 remained unchanged. GCC and Arab investors remained net buyers for OMR670,000 while Omani investors remained net sellers for OMR605,000 followed by foreign investors for OMR65,000 worth of shares.

The financial Index closed at 8,523.73 points, up by 0.60 per cent. Al Anwar Holding, Al Madina Investments, ONIC, Al Batinah Development and Al Madina Takaful increased by 5.90 per cent, 4.05 per cent, 3.89 per cent, 3.66 per cent and 3.19 per cent respectively. Bank Muscat and Bank Sohar decreased by 0.57 per cent and 0.44 per cent respectively.

Industrial Index continued its bearish trend to close at 9,514.2 points, down by 0.23 per cent. National Mineral Water, Al Hassan Engineering, Oman Fisheries and Al Anwar Ceramics increased by 14.52 per cent, 1.69 per cent, 1.37 per cent and 0.76 per cent respectively. Oman Chlorine, A'Saffa Foods, Construction Materials, Dhofar Cattlefeed and Oman Cements decreased by 3.45 per cent, 3.40 per cent, 2.00 per cent, 1.02 per cent and 0.55 per cent respectively.

Services Sector Index closed at 3,669.96 points, marginally down by 0.02 per cent. OIFC, Oman Education & Training, Nawras and Omantel increased by 0.93 per cent, 0.76 per cent, 0.61 per cent and 0.30 per cent respectively. National Gas, Renaissance Services and Al Maha Petroleum decreased by 0.66 per cent, 0.63 per cent and 0.20 per cent respectively.
