MSM30 Index closed with gains at 6,351.66 points, up by 0.15 per cent. The MSM Sharia Index ended flat at 975.65 points, down by 0.01 per cent.
Al Anwar Holding was the most active in terms of volume while Omantel was the most active in terms of turnover. Tuesday's top gainer was HSBC Bank Oman, up by 3.85 per cent while Al Hassan Engineering down by 9.01 per cent was the top loser for the day.
A total number of 929 trades were executed during the day's trading session generating turnover of OMR3.85 million with more than 13.8 million shares changing hands.
Out of 43 traded securities, five advanced, 16 declined and 22 remained unchanged. At the session close, GCC & Arab investors were net buyers for OMR766,000 followed by Foreign Investors for OMR424,000 while Omani Investors were net sellers for OMR1.19 million worth of shares.
Financial Index advanced 0.12 per cent to close at 7,728.22 points. HSBC Bank Oman, Al Madina Investments and NBO increased by 3.85 per cent, 1.61 per cent and 0.63 per cent respectively. Dhofar Insurance, Oman & Emirates Holding, Al Sharqia Investments, Gulf Investment Services and Al Anwar Holding declined by 7.49 per cent, 4.39 per cent, 2.86 per cent, 2.78 per cent and 1.20 per cent respectively.
Industrial Index ended the day at 8,340.97 points, down by 0.21 per cent. Al Hassan Engineering, Oman Fisheries, Construction Materials and Al Maha Ceramics decreased 9.01 per cent, 3.51 per cent, 2.44 per cent and 1.50 per cent respectively.
