Oman's general index — MSM30 Index — closed at 6385.23 points, up by 0.09 per cent. The MSM Shariah Index moved up by 0.29 per cent to close at 983.33 points. Bank Muscat was the most active in terms of volume as well as turnover. Tuesday's top gainer was Al Izz Islamic Bank, up by 3.70 per cent, while Galfar Engineering, down by 1.52 per cent, was the top loser for the day.
As many as 570 trades were executed during the day's trading session generating turnover of OMR4.35 million with more than 13.32 million shares changing hands. Out of 40 traded securities, 10 advanced, seven declined and 23 remained unchanged. Omani investors switched to net buyers for OMR1.116 million followed by GCC and Arab investors for OMR316,000 while foreign investors switched to net sellers for OMR1.432 million worth of shares.
Financial Index closed at 7815.53 points, down by 0.03 per cent. Al Izz Islamic Bank, Oman Takaful, United Finance and Al Madina Investment increased by 3.70 per cent, 1.75 per cent, 1.57 per cent and 1.32 per cent, respectively. BankDhofar, Al Awnar Holding, Ahli Bank and Oman & Emirates declined by 1.43 per cent, 1.20 per cent, 0.92 per cent and 0.85 per cent, respectively.
Industrial Index closed at 8297.50 points, down by 0.16 per cent. Galfar Engineering and Oman Refreshment declined by 1.52 per cent and 0.40 per cent, respectively.
Services Sector Index up by 0.24 per cent to close at 3,445.82 points. Ooredoo Oman, Jazeera Services and OIFC increased by 1.56 per cent, 0.58 per cent and 0.43 per cent, respectively.
