The MSM30 Index crossed the 7,500-mark to close at 7,515.25 points, up by 0.33 per cent. The MSM Sharia index was up by 0.28 per cent at 1,078.76 points. Al Anwar Holding was the most active in terms of volume as well as turnover. Majan College was the top gainer of the day, up by 5.93 per cent, while Dhofar Cattlefeed was the top loser of the day having gone down 7.78 per cent.

A total number of 1,463 trades were executed during the day's trading session generating turnover of OMR9.04 million with 21.7 million shares changing hands. Out of 58 traded stocks, 21 advanced, 12 declined and 25 remained unchanged. Foreign investors were net buyers for OMR953,000 followed by Omani investors for shares worth OMR13,000 while GCC and Arab investors were sellers for OMR967,000 worth of shares.

The Financial Index continued its upward trend to close at 9,341.20 points, up by 0.70 per cent. Al Anwar Holding, Ahli Bank, Ominvest, Onic Holding and HSBC Bank Oman increased by 3.90 per cent, 2.93 per cent, 2.17 per cent, 1.78 per cent and 1.76 per cent respectively. DBIH, Bank Nizwa, NBO, Bank Sohar and Bank Dhofar declined by 2.67 per cent, 1.12 per cent, 0.99 per cent, 0.78 per cent, and 0.52 per cent respectively.

Industrial Index was up by 0.21 per cent to close at 10,219.01 points. Voltamp Energy, Oman Textiles, Construction Materials, Gulf International Chemicals and National Aluminium increased by 3.81 per cent, 3.20 per cent, 1.92 per cent, 1.30 per cent and 0.75 per cent respectively. Galfar Engineering, Al Hassan Engineering and Dhofar Cattlefeed declined by 7.78 per cent, 1.29 per cent and 1.23 per cent respectively.

Services Sector Index closed at 3,797.21 points, up by 0.07 per cent. Majan College, Nawras and National Gas increased by 5.93 per cent, 1.81 per cent and 0.56 per cent respectively. Sohar Power, OIFC and Omantel declined by 1.55 per cent, 0.40 per cent and 0.29 per cent respectively.
