Muscat: The MSM30 Index closed with gains at 6,580.41 points, up by 0.32 per cent. The MSM Sharia Index closed at 997.98 points, up by 0.34 per cent. Al Anwar Holding was the most active in terms of volume as well as turnover. The top gainer of the day was Global Financial Investment, up by 2.85 per cent, while National Gas, down by 6.25 per cent, was the top loser of the day.
A total number of 1255 trades were executed during the day's trading session generating turnover of OMR5.81 million with more than 16.67 million shares changing hands. Out of 49 traded stocks, 19 advanced, 10 declined and 20 remained unchanged. Omani investors were net buyers for OMR915,000 while Foreign Investors were net sellers for OMR604,000 followed by GCC and Arab Investors for OMR311,000 worth of shares.
Financial Index ended the day at 8,228.59 points, up by 0.57 per cent. Global Financial Investment, Al Anwar Holding, United Finance and Al Sharqiya Investment increased by 2.88 per cent, 2.61 per cent, 2.04 per cent and 1.62 per cent respectively. Oman & Emirates , Gulf Investment Services and Al Izz Bank Holding declined by 2.05 per cent, 1.13 per cent and 1.09 per cent respectively.
Industrial Index was up by 0.18 per cent to close at 8,721.80 points. Al Hassan Engineering, Gulf International Chemicals, Al Anwar Ceramics and Raysut Cement increased by 2.38 per cent, 1.73 per cent, 0.81 per cent and 0.57 per cent respectively. Voltamp Energy was the only loser and was down by 0.46 per cent to close at OMR0.436.
Services Sector Index closed at 3,567.01 points, marginally up by 0.02 per cent. Al Jazeira Services, Oreedoo Oman, Al Batinah Power and Al Suwadi Power increased by 2.71 per cent, 1.12 per cent , 1.10 per cent and 0.55 per cent respectively. National Gas, Port Services Corp, OIFC and Gulf Hotels declined by 6.25 per cent, 0.99 per cent, 0.41 per cent and 0.05 per cent respectively.
