Continued selling pressure pushed down the MSM30 Index, which ended on negative note at 5,571.99 points, down by 0.92 per cent. MSM Sharia Index decreased by 0.43 per cent to close at 890.04 points.

Gulf Investment Services was the most active in terms of volume while Bank Muscat was the most active in terms of turnover. Al Madina Investment, up by 7.41 per cent was the top gainer of the day while Port Services Corporation was the top loser of the day, down by 9.60 per cent.

A total number of 1,410 trades were executed during the day's trading session generating turnover of OMR4.0 million with more than 16.6 million shares changing hands. Out of 43 traded stocks, eight advanced, 25 declined and 10 remained unchanged.

Omani investors remained net buyers for OMR591,000 while GCC & Arab investors were net sellers for OMR298,000 followed by foreign investors for OMR292,000 worth of shares.

The Financial Index declined by 0.64 per cent to close at 6,780.55 points. Al Madina Investment and Ahli Bank increased by 7.41 per cent and 1.57 per cent respectively. HSBC Bank Oman, Oman United Insurance, ONIC Holding, Al Batinah Development and Al Sharqia Investments decreased by 5.69 per cent, 4.71 per cent, 4.49 per cent, 3.64 per cent and 2.65 per cent respectively.

Industrial Index closed at 7,567.01 points, down by 1.40 per cent. Al Hassan Engineering, Construction Materials and Al Maha Ceramics increased by 5.68 per cent, 5.56 per cent and 2.45 per cent respectively. Oman Cables, Al Anwar Ceramics, Oman Fisheries, Oman Refreshments and Majan Glass decreased by 6.04 per cent, 5.15 per cent, 3.17 per cent, 2.04 per cent and 1.75 per cent respectively.

Services Sector Index ended the day at 3,269.65 points, down by 1.21 per cent. Ooredoo, National Gas and Omantel increased by 2.21 per cent, 1.15 per cent and 1.01 per cent respectively. Port Services Corporation, Renaissance Services, OIFC, Al Batinah Power and Al Maha Petroleum declined by 9.60 per cent, 8.77 per cent, 6.13 per cent, 4.27 per cent and 3.36 per cent respectively.
