MSM 30 index closed with marginal gains at 7,477.77 points, up by 0.05 per cent. The MSM Shariah index closed at 1,084.84 points, down by 0.13 per cent.

Bank Muscat was the most active in terms of volume as well as turnover. National Mineral Water, up by 5.66 per cent was the top gainer of the day, while Gulf Financial Investment was the top loser, declining by 3.70 per cent.

Altogether 980 trades were executed in Wednesday's session generating a turnover of OMR6.94 million with 14.49 million shares changing hands. Out of 53 traded stocks, 20 advanced, 13 declined and 20 remained unchanged. At the close of the session, foreign investors were net buyers to the tune of OMR748,000 worth of shares, while GCC and Arab investors sold shares amounting to OMR735,000, followed by Omani investors at OMR13,000.

The financial Index went down by 0.02 per cent to close at 9,318.22 points. United Finance, Al Sharqia Investments, HSBC Bank Oman, Al Madina Investments and Bank Dhofar increased by 1.43 per cent, 1.39 per cent, 1.12 per cent, 1.08 per cent and 1.06 per cent respectively. Global Financial Investment, Al Anwar Holding, DBIH, Bank Nizwa and Al Madina Takaful declined by 3.70 per cent, 1.83 per cent, 1.72 per cent, 1.05 per cent and 0.86 per cent respectively.

Industrial Index closed at 10,229.94 points, down by 0.19 per cent. National Mineral Water, Gulf International Chemicals, Al Hassan Engineering, Al Anwar Ceramics and Raysut Cement increased by 5.66 per cent, 0.89 per cent, 0.67 per cent, 0.35 per cent and 0.23 per cent respectively. Dhofar Cattlefeed, Al Jazeera Services, Galfar Engineering and Voltamp Energy declined by 2.30 per cent, 1.28 per cent, 1.27 per cent and 0.47 per cent respectively.

Services Index ended the day strong at 3,798.81 points, up by 0.39 per cent. SMN Power Holdings, Al Suwaidi Power, Al Batinah Power, Al Maha Pertroleum and Sohar Power increased by 2.61 per cent, 2.20 per cent, 1.65 per cent, 1.59 per cent and 1.05 per cent respectively. Omantel, Nawras and OIFC declined by 0.59 per cent, 0.59 per cent and 0.40 per cent respectively.
