Qatar Exchange added 97.12 points (or 0.78pc) when the bourse closed at 12,550.98 points Thursday afternoon.
The volume of the shares traded was up to 37,110,091 from 35,161,071 on Wednesday and the value of shares increased to QR 1,238,380,332.58 from QR1,138,312,504.31 its previous close.
Ezdan Holding led the gainers today with its share up 10 percent to QR31.35 from a traded volume of 1,022,229 shares. Amal share was up 6.92 percent to QR19.
Vodafone Qatar saw brisk trading with a volume of 7,822,896 shares exchanging hands to close at QR16.28, up 5.65 percent.
Among the banking sector, International Islamic Bank was up 3.05 percent to QR 84.50 while Qatar Islamic Bank was up 2.69 to QR83.90. Qatar National Bank dipped 1.03 percent to QR 192.
The biggest loser today was Qatar Cinema and Film Distribution Company, down by 5.58 percent to QR 40.60. Industries Qatar dropped by 1.10 percent to QR180.
Banking and Financial sector index was up 1.13 percent. Consumer Goods and Services sector index was up 0.05 percent while the insurance sector index was up 0.35 percent and telecommunication sector index was up 1.60 percent.
The real estate sector index dropped 0.5 percent.
