Saudi Electricity Co, the Gulf’s largest utility firm, said on Monday that its board had approved expanding the amount of its planned US dollar-denominated sukuk programme to $2.5 billion (Dh9.18 billion) from $1.5 billion.
Funds from the issuance will be used to finance some of the company’s capital projects, it said in a bourse statement without elaborating.
The company generates and distributes power across Saudi Arabia.
