Saudi Commission for Tourism and Antiquities (SCTA) signed an agreement with Al-Tayyar travel group in Riyadh for licensing tourist activities, creating more jobs for Saudis and developing agro-tourism.
An SCTA official said on Monday that the cooperation agreement signed between the two sides covers tourism investment and franchises. The deal covers the licensing of tourist activities and their prospective returns in creating more job opportunities for Saudis.
It also covers several other areas of cooperation, including tourism products under agro-tourism programs where Al-Tayyar Group in collaboration with SCTA will select a number of distinguished farms from different parts of the Kingdom, transform them into tourism attractions and then open them up for the visitors.
The official added that in the field of tourism investment, the agreement aims to utilize the "Live Saudi Arabia" program supporting it through marketing its major events across the Kingdom.
Furthermore, the agreement also covers the training area and creating job opportunities for the citizens in the travel and tourism sector through designing and executing a number of training programs to qualify human resources in the travel and tourism sector.
The agreement falls under the principle of partnership and cooperation, which is adopted by SCTA in its relationship with relevant authorities in both the public and private sectors, in pursuance of its strategy for the Kingdom's tourism development.
