The MSM30 index ended on a negative note on the first day of the week to close at 5566.41 points, down by 0.12 per cent. A total number of 772 trades were executed in yesterday’s trading session generating turnover of RO2.64 million with over 6.33 million shares of trading volume.
Banking and Investment Index was up by 0.32 per cent at 6218.90 points. Muscat National Holding, Financial Services, Ominvest and Bank Sohar soared by 9.74 per cent, 1.92 per cent, 1.65 per cent and 0.65 per cent respectively.
The Industrial Sector Index fell by 0.58 per cent at 5823.49 points. Oman Textile Holding, Construction Material Industries and Al Anwar Ceramic moved up by 2.54 per cent, 2.44 per cent and 0.33 per cent, respectively.
Services & Insurance Sector Index was down by 0.29 per cent to close at 2444.04 points. Al Jazeera Services, SMN Power and Al Maha Petroleum edged higher.
