Vodafone Qatar has seen a strong growth for its smartphones. Encouraged with the positive response, the company is planning to launch a new model by the end of this month. This year the company has so far launched three smartphones targeting different set of customers.

Vodafone had launched its new flagship smartphone early this month that marked a decade of creating mobile devices. The high-end phone ‘Smart platinum 7’- priced at QR1,599- was packed with latest features and saw a positive response from customers.

“The initial response for ‘Smart platinum 7’ from users is very good. We have seen good review from the customers because it has all the features which they were looking for,” Mohamed Al Sadah (pictured), Chief Operating Officer, Vodafone Qatar told The Peninsula in an exclusive interview yesterday. “Models launched this year have seen a good demand. Our 3G device is flying off the shelves,” added Al Sadah.

Vodafone’s ‘Smart mini 7’ was launched for the entry level segment this year. Having a price tag of QR199, this 3G phone is equipped with dual camera and four inch display.

For the mid tier segment, the Company had unveiled ‘Smart ultra 7’ which is priced at QR999. This premium 4G device boasts of 5.5 inches full HD display with 13 mega pixel rear and 5 mega pixel front cameras with flash. Now the company is planning to launch ‘Smart prime 7’ later this month. This entry level 4G phone will be priced at QR499.

The strategy behind selling Vodafone phones to the customers is providing best quality at affordable rate.

“We started making phones 10 years back because we wanted to give customers the best quality at affordable prices. With a decade of experience in making phones, we are closely aligned with customers need and we know what they need,” said Al Sadah. “Our products offer customer higher specifications at affordable prices,” he added.

The company has sweetened the deal for customers by bundling these devices with warranty and free Internet data. Vodafone, in 2006, began creating devices to reduce the cost to its customers of owning the latest mobile technology, Vodafone devices range now includes 3G and 4G smartphones, tablets, mobile data products and broadband routers.

Globally, the company has sold over 85 million Vodafone devices have been sold to date. “We are closely aligned with phone manufacturers and also with customers. With all this put together, we try to come with best offers for customers. We do not compromise on the build quality. We try to get latest technology and quality at affordable price for our customers,” said Al Sadah.
