Saudi Telecom Company (STC) is a joint stock company operating in the kingdom and providing services related to landline, mobile, internet and computer network telecommunications. Established in 1998 and headquartered in Riyadh, STC and its various subsidiaries are major players in information and media services sector. The company's GSM segment offers mobile, third and fourth generation prepaid card, international roaming, and messaging services. Its PSTN segment provides fixed line, telephone cards, interconnect, and international call services. STC's DATA segment offers leased data transmission circuits and DSL. The company is also involved in the operation of communications projects; transmission and processing of information; provision of mobile, international telecommunications, broadband, and other related services. In addition to that, STC engages in the electrical and communication networks business too. The company is also involved in wholesale and retail trade of fixed telecommunications equipment, electrical appliances, computer systems & devices, fixed & mobile telecommunication equipment, internet equipment, advertising and publicity materials. Further, STC imports, markets, installs, and maintains fixed and mobile telecommunications, and information technology licensed devices. It owns, invests in, and manages real estate properties, as well as provides contracting services. Additionally, the company engages in consulting, imports and exports businesses;and also content services and digital media businesses.STC operates not only within the kingdom but also has a presence in 11 other countries of the Middle East and North Africa, through various investments and share holding companies.
