Activities
Etihad Atheeb Telecommunications Co., trading as GO, is a prominent telecommunications company based in Saudi Arabia. Established in 2008, it is the second fixed-line operator to acquire a license from the Communications and Information Technology Commission (CITC) to provide fixed services, including voice and broadband data communication, value-added services, directory services, and managed services. Etihad Atheeb Telecom was formed as a Saudi joint-stock company with major shareholders including Atheeb Trading Company, Batelco, Al-Nahla Trading Company, and Traco Trading Ltd Co. The company was one of ten applicants to bid for a public fixed services license in 2007 and successfully acquired a 3.5 GHz frequency spectrum covering thirteen regional divisions across Saudi Arabia. In 2009 the company launched an initial public offering (IPO) of 30% of its shares, marking the first IPO in Saudi Arabia since the global economic crisis. In 2023, Etihad Atheeb announced plans to increase capital by offering rights issues to pay off obligations and modernize systems and networks. Etihad Atheeb Telecom provides a range of services under the brand name GO, including: Voice Services, Broadband Services, Value-Added Services and Managed Services. The company aims to support the liberalization of the telecom sector and engage the private sector in the development of telecommunications infrastructure in Saudi Arabia.
